It's all about JESUS. Often when people hear the Name of Jesus, they think about rules and regulations being administered by fanatical religious hypocrites...the idea of LOVE being the only motivation of God when He sent Jesus to the world is SO foreign. But the fact of the matter is, in the Bible, the book of John chapter 3, verse 16 says, "GOD SO LOVED the world (that's you!) that He sent His only son (Jesus) to the world...that whosoever will believe in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. God did not send Jesus to the world to CONDEMN the world, but that the world through Him might be saved."
Historically, humanity has tried to deal with their own sin and pain. You'll even see within scripture how God, through His grace, continually extended His kindness toward all. STILL, over and over, man struggled with the idea that He could not fix or save himself...pride would run down good intentions, and God and His plans were ignored generationally...leaving devastation and emptiness on all sides.
Then Jesus enters the arena. Love came down to walk among us...to make a way where there was no way, to restore our hearts to God through salvation, to die on a cross to pay a debt we could not pay, to rise again in ultimate victory. YES, this is LOVE...love that knows no bounds, love that covers our sin and heals our pain... Faith, Hope and Love...but the GREATEST of all these is LOVE.
According to the Word of God, the problems and issues the world faces can be traced back to one thing: the state of the human heart consumed with self, the disease of sin. When we live like this, as if God doesn’t matter or even exist, we get stuck in a downward spiral of living, always chasing what is best for "me and mine." We end up becoming slaves to our wants and desires. And our relationship with God is broken.
All we have to do to mend this relationship is to reach out to God and recognize that His ways are higher than our own. This moment is called Salvation and it's where we begin our relationship with God. His love and salvation is available to everyone regardless of our history. His desire is that no one should miss out on receiving His glorious love AND eternal life. Romans 10:13 says, "Whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
“The way of Jesus cannot be imposed or mapped; it requires an active participation in following Jesus as he leads us through sometimes strange and unfamiliar terrritory, in circumstances that become clear only in the hesitations and questionings, in the pauses and reflections where we engage in prayerful conversation with one another and with Him.”
